The tricky duo have been arrested for conspiring to cheat the system and pass a Railyway recruitment exam. To prevent fraudsters, a verification step had been introduced to match finger prints to a data base.

Apparently Manish Kumar had a burning feeling he would fail, so he used a hot pan to blister his finger and gave the skin from his thumb to friend Rajyaguru Gupta to impersonate him.

The plan came undone when the exam supervisor sprayed sanitiser on Gupta's thumb and the print fell off.

Lo and behold, the thumb bandits were caught red handed before their scheme even got on track.

NATO is investigating the reported sale of its classified documents by a hacker group, the BBC reported on Thursday. Some of the data describes in detail the products of MBDA Missile Systems, a pan-European defense manufacturer.

“We have no indication that any NATO network has been compromised,” the British broadcaster quoted a spokesperson for the alliance as saying.

The BBC said unidentified hackers were asking 15 Bitcoins (roughly $320,000 at current price) for the trove of stolen data. The price and other details coincide with what was reported in early August by the French cybersecurity and information technology news website LeMagIT.

The data cache was apparently offered to would-be buyers by someone named Adrastea in late July and is believed to originate from an external hard drive. An Italian subsidiary of MBDA is suspected to be the breach point for the hacker.

Sunken WW2 German warships and boats became visible in the Serbian part of the Danube, near the village of Prahovo on Friday, as the water level continued to fall.

In total, around 20 wrecks were exposed, with the river at one of its lowest levels in nearly a century, due to the severe drought.

Hundreds of ships from the German Black Sea fleet were sunk in the river during the Soviet advance in 1944.
