Global Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI)
Released by : United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Oxford Poverty & Human Development Initiative (OPHI).
How is this Multidimensional?- Index shows the proportion of poor people and the average number of deprivations each poor person experiences at the same time.( Ex : In covid times, a sick parent has a burden of health as well as education for their kids)
MPI uses three dimensions and ten indicators which are shown in the pic above.
Who is a poor person according to this index? -
A person is multidimensionally poor if she/he is deprived in one third or more (means 33% or more) of the weighted indicators (out of the ten indicators). Those who are deprived in one half or more of the weighted indicators are considered living in extreme multidimensional poverty.

Kaladan Multimodal project
It is a Multimodal Transit project connecting the state of Mizoram with the Sittwe port of Myanmar.
The project has three different stretches involving shipping, Inland Water and road transport stretches.
Shipping: Kolkata port to Sittwe port (across Bay of Bengal)
Inland water transport: Sittwe port to Paletwa (through River Kaladan)
Road stretches: From Paletwa (Myanmar) to Lawngtlai (India)

CRISPR Technology
Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats (CRISPR) is a gene editing technology, which replicates natural defence mechanism in bacteria to fight virus attacks, using a special protein called Cas9.
CRISPR-Cas9 technology behaves like a cut-and-paste mechanism on DNA strands that contain genetic information. The specific location of the genetic codes that need to be changed, or edited, is identified on the DNA strand, and then, using the Cas9 protein, which acts like a pair of scissors, that location is cut off from the strand
A DNA strand, when broken, has a natural tendency to repair itself. Scientists intervene during this auto-repair process, supplying the desired sequence of genetic codes that binds itself with the broken DNA strand.
