Kent Business School are pleased to be able to offer a limited number of competitive 'Women in Leadership Scholarships' to students applying for the Kent MBA, worth 50% of the Kent MBA tuition fee. Successful candidates must demonstrate both depth and breadth of previous work experience along with academic excellence in leading and aspiring female colleagues to develop and succeed in becoming strong business leaders across their chosen business sector.

Awardees, in recognition of this prestigious scholarship would need to continue to champion women in leadership roles by undertaking the following activities whilst on the course:
1) Organise an event or project to promote the area of their scholarship in collaboration with the Kent MBA Team.
2) Become a student ambassador supporting recruitment activities and initiatives for the MBA course. Once graduated, scholars would join the network of alumni ambassadors in their home country to support key alumni events and recruitment activities. Whilst there is no official deadline for applications, these scholarships are dependent upon a finite pool of funding and a limited number of scholarship awards.

This scholarship can only be considered after you have submitted a formal application to study onto the Kent MBA at Kent Business School and have received a formal offer for September 2021 entry. You can then apply for the scholarship via your Applicant Portal by submitting the required supporting statement of motivation.

There is no one way to write a winning scholarship application.

If you gathered together all the scholarship entries that have ever won a prize, you would find it difficult to identify what made them the same.

Each would offer a distinctive style employed by the author; a unique insight into his or her past, present and future aspirations.

This uniqueness is the key, and the first point to remember when you pick up your pen to write.

Make your scholarship application essay exclusive to you, personalize it, delve deep into your passion and drive to study your subject, and create a response that could only ever relate to you. It is this individuality that stands out, and that’s exactly what catches a judge’s eye and defines a winner.

That being said, there are some key elements which all scholarship essays need to have or bear in mind.

Use this checklist when writing your own scholarship essay to ensure your application is as good as it can be.

Understand the eligibility criteria
Don’t waste time on a scholarship essay if you aren’t going to be eligible for consideration. If you’re unsure, contact the scholarship provider and ask.

Avoid grammar & spelling mistakes
Don’t give the people assessing your application an easy reason to dismiss it.

Stay focused on the objective of the essay

2021-06-10 08:48:33 Just three Indian institutions figure among the top 200 in the latest QS Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings 2022.

QS assesses universities on six parameters:
Academic reputation,
Employer reputation,
Citations per faculty,
Faculty/student ratio,
International faculty ratio and
International student ratio.

Here are highlights from the report.

The Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore has been ranked as the world’s top research university. After universities were adjusted for faculty size, IISc Bangalore scored a perfect 100/100 on the citations per faculty indicator.

IIT Bombay retained its position as India’s best institution for the fourth straight year, but it fell five places to 177.

IIT Delhi rose eight places from last year to rank 185, overtaking IISc, which came in at the 186th spot.

Indian universities improved their research impact relative to global competitors, but continued to struggle in terms of institutional teaching capacity.

Other Indian institutes in the top 500 are IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Guwahati and IIT Roorkee, in that order.

Delhi University finds a place in the 501-510 bracket while Jawaharlal Nehru University has broken into the top 600.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology was the top university globally for the 10th consecutive year while University of Oxford rose to the second rank. Stanford University and the University of Cambridge shared the third spot.
