Pakistan’s Interior Ministry has reported 434 terror attacks on its security forces in the first half of 2022. At least 323 soldiers were reportedly killed and 700+ officers injured.

Islamabad has been in peace talks with the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) in the country - but splinter cells have apparently gone rogue and have continued targeted attacks.

Russia’s military operation in Ukraine and the subsequent Western sanctions on Moscow might push the global economy into geopolitical fragmentation, the IMF has warned in a recent report.

“A serious risk to the medium-term outlook is that the war in Ukraine will contribute to fragmentation of the world economy into geopolitical blocs with distinct technology standards, cross-border payment systems, and reserve currencies,” the publication states.

According to the IMF, such a split would prevent the world community from jointly addressing global problems.

The social activist and ex-DGP Sreekumar’s bail plea has been rejected by Ahmedabad’s sessions court.

Both were arrested last month for forgery and fabricating evidence regarding the riots two decades ago.

The court heard that the pair were part of a "larger conspiracy" by late Congress leader Ahmed Patel to destabilise the BJP govt.

A timepiece of a tyrant! A Huber wristwatch - believed to be Hitler's - has sold at auction in the US for over $1mn.

An anonymous bidder snapped up the dark relic, which bears a Nazi eagle and the initials AH.

Dozens of Jewish leaders have called the sale "abhorrent" - while the auction house told German media its aim was to preserve history.

It's believed the watch was taken by French soldiers as "spoils of war" before being sold on.

The US Navy has reportedly deployed a strike force led by the USS Ronald Reagan to guard Nancy Pelosi's trip.

On Friday, a Chinese Liberation Army post simply stated, "Prepare for war!" - while a journalist suggested shooting down the plane.

A group of students and teachers have been tragically killed when a train smashed into their bus.

11 have been confirmed dead and several hospitalised in critical condition. Eyewitnesses claim the passengers removed a barricade at a crossing point moments before the crash. (IANS)

The Dhaka-bound train rammed into the vehicle and reportedly dragged it around a kilometre down the tracks. One person has been detained and an investigation opened.
