⬧ Pandit Makhanlal Chaturvedi was born on April 4, 1889 in Babai village of Hoshangabad district of Madhya Pradesh.
⬧ His father's name was Nand Lal Chaturvedi and his mother's name was Sundari Bai. He was married to Gyarasi Bai.
⬧ He became a teacher only at the age of 16.
⬧ After leaving the teaching job, he started editing Prabha magazine.
⬧ He was a patriotic poet and a keen journalist and he also edited Karmaveer and Pratap.
⬧ ‘Him Kiritni’, ‘Sahitya Devta’, ‘Him Tarangini’, ‘Venu Lo Gunje Dhara’ are his major works.
⬧ He has been honored with Padma Bhushan and Sahitya Akademi Award.
⬧ Makhanlal Chaturvedi's compositions are full of national spirit. The spirit of sacrifice for the country is found in him with the consciousness of freedom, hence he is called an “Bhartiya Atma”.
⬧ He has also written poems with this pen name. He was a poet-activist and went to jail several times during the freedom movement. He has also written poems on devotion, love and nature.
⬧ Chaturvedi ji gives more importance to emotion than craft in poetry. He has also used words suited to the traditional rhyming composition.

⬧ Sachchidananda Hirananda Vatsyayan, popularly known as 'Agyeya', was born on March 7, 1911.
⬧ He was born in Kushinagar (Uttar Pradesh), but spent his childhood in Lucknow, Srinagar and Jammu.
⬧ His early education was in English and Sanskrit and later he learned Hindi.
⬧ Agyeya was initially a science student and after doing B.Sc, he took admission in MA English.
⬧ Due to participation in the revolutionary movement, he had to leave his studies midway.
⬧ He was also a professor at Jodhpur University.
⬧ He was the founder editor of the famous Hindi news weekly Dinman.
⬧ He also edited Navbharat Times for a few days. Apart from this, he edited many literary magazines like Sainik, Vishal Bharat, Prateek, Naya Prateek etc.
⬧ He has a wide influence on Hindi poetry after independence. Initiating the Saptak tradition, he edited Tar Saptak, Dusara Saptak, Tisra Saptak. The poems of seven poets are collected in each Saptak, which reveals the poetic consciousness of several decades of the century.
⬧ Agyeya has done writing work in many literary genres like story, novel, travelogue, essay, criticism etc. along with poetry. Shekhar - A Biography, River Islands, Apne-apne Ajnabee (Novel), Arre Yayavar Rahega Yaad, Ek Boond Sahasa Uchhali (Travelogue), Trishanku, Atmane Pad (Essay), Vipathaga, Parampara, Kothri Ki Baat, Sharanarthi, Jaidol and Yeh Tere Pratirup (story collection) are his major works.
⬧ Agyeya is the poet of nature-love and the conflicts of human-mind. His poetry urges the freedom of the individual and also the expansion of intellectuality. He has developed Hindi poetic language, trying to give new meaning to words. He has received many awards, including Sahitya Akademi Award, Bharat Bharti Samman and Bharatiya Jnanpith Award.
⬧ His main poetic works include Bhagnadoot, Chinta, Hari Ghas Par Kshanbhar, Indradanush Ronde Hue Ye, Angan Ke Par Dvar, Kitni Navon me Kitni Bar etc.
⬧ The compilation of complete poems of Agyeya has been published in two parts named Sadanira.
⬧ Agyeya died on 4 April 1987 in New Delhi.

Kishori Amonkar
Kishori Amonkar, a leading singer of Hindustani music, was born on 10 April 1932 in Mumbai.
Amonkar's mother, singer Mogubai Kurdikar, received training from Alladiya Khan Saheb, a veteran singer of the Jaipur Gharana.
While learning the techniques and nuances of the Jaipur gharana from her mother, Amonkar developed her own style, which has influences from other gharanas as well.
She was mainly known for singing khayal, but has also sung thumri, bhajan and devotional songs and film songs.
She was awarded 'Padma Bhushan' in the year 1987 and 'Padma Vibhushan' in the year 2002 for her contribution in the field of arts.
Eminent classical vocalist Mrs. Kishori Amonkar was honored with 'ITC Sangeet Puraskar' for her contribution in popularizing and enriching the tradition of classical music.
She was also awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in the year 1985.
Renowned Hindustani classical singer Kishori Amonkar passed away at the age of 84 on 3 April 2017 in Mumbai.

Mannu Bhandari was born on April 03, 1931 in Bhanpura, Mandsaur (Madhya Pradesh).
She did her intermediate education in Ajmer city of Rajasthan and later she did M.A. in Hindi.
After retiring from teaching job at Miranda House College, Delhi, she did independent writing while staying in Delhi.
One of the prominent works of Mannu Bhandari, a major signature of post-independence Hindi fiction literature, is Ek plate Sailab, Main Har Gayi, Yahi Sach Hai, Trishanku (story-collection); Aapka Bunty, Mahabhoj (novel) etc. are included.
Apart from this, she has also written scripts for films and television serials.
Self-narrative was published under the name 'Ek Kahani Yeh Bhi'.
For her literary achievements, she has received many awards, including the highest honor of the Hindi Academy, which includes the awards of the Bhartiya Bhasha Parishad, Kolkata, Rajasthan Sangeet Natak Akademi and Awards of Uttar Pradesh Hindi Institute.
Mannu Bhandari was considered one of the pioneers of the 'Nai Kahani' movement, a major movement in Hindi literature, initiated by eminent writers such as Nirmal Verma, Rajendra Yadav, Bhishma Sahni, Kamleshwar.

Towards the end of the 17th century a powerful kingdom emerged in the Deccan under the leadership of Shivaji, which eventually led to the establishment of a Maratha state.
Shivaji was born on February 19, 1630 at Shivneri fort in Pune district in present day Maharashtra state.
His father was the Maratha general Shahaji Bhonsle, who had the jagirs of Pune and Supe under the Bijapur Sultanate.
Shivaji's mother's name was Jija Bai.
Under the guidance of his mother and guardian grandfather Kondadev, Shivaji set out on the path of victory at an early age.
The capture of Javali made Shivaji the head of the Mavla plateau, which paved the way for his expansion.
He often used guerrilla warfare method against his opponents. With the help of the revenue collection system based on chauth and sardeshmukhi, he laid the foundation of a strong Maratha kingdom.
Shivaji displayed his military prowess for the first time in the year 1645, when he successfully gained control of the Torna fort under Bijapur as a teenager.
Chhatrapati Shivaji also took possession of the Kondana fort.
Battle of Pratapgarh, 1659 – This battle was fought between the forces of Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Adilshahi general Afzal Khan at the fort of Pratapgarh near the city of Satara in Maharashtra.
Battle of Surat, 1664 – This battle was fought between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Mughal general Inayat Khan near the city of Surat in Gujarat.
Battle of Purandar, 1665 – This war was fought between the Mughal Empire and the Maratha Empire.
Treaty of Purandar was signed in June 1665 between Shivaji and Raja Jai Singh I (representing Aurangzeb).
Battle of Sinhagad, 1670 – This battle was fought at the fort of Sinhagad near the city of Pune in Maharashtra, between Tanaji Malusare, the general of the Maratha ruler Shivaji Maharaj, and Udaybhan Rathore, a Mughal army chief under Jai Singh I.
Battle of Sangamner, 1679 – This war was fought between the Mughal Empire and the Maratha Empire. This was the last battle in which the Maratha king Shivaji fought.
Through his military strategy, Shivaji captured a large tract of land in the Deccan and western India.
Shivaji was crowned as the King of the Marathas on June 6, 1674 at Raigarh.
He had assumed the titles of Chhatrapati, Shakkarta, Kshatriya Kulwant and Handav Dharmadharkar.
Shivaji died on 3rd April, 1680.
