Polavaram Dam Project

The Polavaram Project is an under construction multi-purpose irrigation National project

It is located on the  Godavari River in the West Godavari District in Andhra Pradesh.

The project has been accorded national project status by the Union Government of India.

The proposed project would displace 276 villages and 44,574 families spread across Andhra Pradesh state mainly. Tribals constitute 50% of such a displaced population.
