A brahmana should wear urdhva pundra; a ksatriya ardha candrakara (half-moon) pundra; vaisya round shaped pundra; and a sudra tri pundra (horizontal tiryak pundra). A brahmana should never wear the horizontal tilak. He is to be considered a sudra if he wears it.
Brahmaratra
One should meditate on Me by chanting Om and should mark his body with vertical tilak daily. Anyone who marks thus attains sayujya liberation.
Vasista smrti
One should mark the tilak on his forehead as follows: he should start from the nose tip and go till his kesa (hair). The width should be one angula (circa 1 inch). This is urdhva pundra laksana.
Sanat Kumara Samhita
Urdhva pundra should be worn with clay and should be worn with a gap inbetween and nicely. In between the two lines, one should mark Sri or Laksmi in the form of Haridhra curna. One should not mark anything else inbetween. Anyone who marks like this is freed from all sinful reactions. Anyone who marks the tilak without any gap is condemned.
Padma Purana
Those devotees on whose neck tulasi kanti mala and lotus seed kanti malas are hanging and on whose shoulders there are the markings of conch and cakra and on whose body there are 12 tilak markings, they purify the entire universe immediately.
Isvara samhita
Anyone who marks his body with the clay which has touched Lord Visnu's body attains the benefit of an asvamedha sacrifice and is glorified in Visnu's abode. One should mark inbetween the vertical lines mother Laksmi with the help of yellow curna or powder.
Putting on Tilaka:
In the Uttara-khanada of the Padma Purana, Bhagwan Shiva says to Maa Parvati Devi that in the middle of the "V" of the Vaishnava tilaka mark there is a space and in that space reside Maa MahaLakshmi Devi and Bhagwan Narayana. Therefore, the body that is decorated with tilaka should be considered a temple of Bhagwan Sri MahaVishnu ओपन / कमेंट

It is put on forehead with sandal paste, sacred ashes or kumkum .devotees of Bhagwan Shiva apply sacred ashes (Bhasma) on forehead, devotees of Bhagwan MahaVishnu apply sandal paste (Chandan), & worshippers of Maa Shakti apply Kumkum, red turmeric powder

Tilak is applied at Ajna Chakra,space between two eyebrows. It has a very cooling effect. Application of sandal paste has great medicinal value, apart from spiritual influence. Application of sandal paste will nullify the heating effect when you concentrate and meditate at the Bhrumadhya. Tilak indicates point at which spiritual eye opens. Bhagwan Siva has a third eye at Brumadhya. When he opens third eye, three worlds are destroyed.

So also, when third eye of the Jiva is opened, three kinds of afflictions – Adhyatmika, Adhidaivika and Adhibhautika- are burnt to ashes. 3 Karmas- Sanchita, Prarabdha and Agami,- and also all sins committed in countless previous births, are burnt. When you apply Tilak, you mentally imagine: "I am one non-dual Brahman free from all duality. May my eye of intuition open soon." You should remember this every time you apply a Tilak.

There are various methods of applying Tilak. Saivas apply three horizontal lines with sacred ashes. Vaishnavas apply three vertical lines (Tripundra) on the forehead.

When they apply Tilak, they say: "O ,Bhagwan protect me from evil effects of Trigunatmika Maya which has Sattwa, Rajas and Tamas as its binding cords."Some Vaishnavas apply only one vertical line. Only method of application differs, but the significance is the same in both Vaishnavas & Saivas.

Atharvana Upanisad :

Anyone who marks his body with tilak which resembles the lotus feet of Bhagwan hari becomes dear to the Paramatma. He becomes fortunate and attains liberation.

Maha Upanisad

One gets released of all bondage of samsara when one marks his body with the tilak markings and knows Narayana who is known by karma, jnana & bhakti yogas. Ultimately, he attains Bhagwan Sri MahaVishnu.

Agni Purana

A brahmana should not wear 3 lined tilak across (tiryak pundra) even for as play. One should mark his body with vertical tilak . ओपन / कमेंट

गीता में लिखा है क्रोध से भ्रम पैदा होता है, भ्रम से बुद्धि व्यग्र होती है। जब बुद्धि व्यग्र होती है तब तर्क नष्ट हो जाते हैं। जब तर्क नष्ट होते हैें तो व्यक्ति का पतन शुरू हो जाता है।

2 नजरिया से बदलाव

जो ज्ञानी व्यक्ति ज्ञान और कर्म को एक रूप में देखता है, उसी का नजरिया सही है। इससे वह इच्छित फल की प्राप्ति कर सकता है।

3‑ मन पर नियंत्रण आवश्यक

मन पर नियंत्रण करना बेहद आवश्यक है। जो व्यक्ति मन पर नियंत्रण नहीं कर पाते, उनका मन उनके लिए शत्रु का कार्य करता है।

4‑ आत्म मंथन करना चाहिए

व्यक्ति को आत्म मंथन करना चाहिए। आत्म ज्ञान की तलवार से व्यक्ति अपने अंदर के अज्ञान को काट सकता है। जिससे उत्कर्ष की ओर प्राप्त होता है।

5‑ सोच से निर्माण

मुनष्य जिस तरह की सोच रखता है, वैसे ही वह आचरण करता है। अपने अंदर के विश्वास को जगाकर मनुष्य सोच में परिवर्तन ला सकता है। जो उसके लिए काल्याणकारी होगा।

6‑ कर्म का फल

गीता में भगवान कहते हैं मनुष्य जैसा कर्म करता है उसे उसके अनुरूप ही फल की प्राप्ति होती है। इसलिए सदकर्मों को महत्व देना चाहिए।

7‑ मन को ऐसे करें नियंत्रित

मन चंचल होता है, वह इधर उधर भटकता रहता है। लेकिन अशांत मन को अभ्यास से वश में किया जा सकता है।

8‑ सफलता प्राप्त करें

मनुष्य जो चाहे प्राप्त कर सकता है, यदि वह विश्वास के साथ इच्छित वस्तु पर लगातार चिंतन करे तो उसे सफलता प्राप्त होती है।

9‑ तनाव से मुक्ति

प्रकृति के विपरीत कर्म करने से मनुष्य तनाव युक्त होता है। यही तनाव मनुष्य के विनाश का कारण बनता है। केवल धर्म और कर्म मार्ग पर ही तनाव से मुक्ति मिल सकती है।

10‑ मनुष्य जीवन
मनुष्य जीवन बहुत ही दुर्लभ है
जन्म मृत्यु के बहुत लंबे मार्ग को
तय करने पर कही भगवान की कृपा
से यह प्राप्त होता है , इसे यूं ही
व्यर्थ कर देना आत्महत्या से भी

2021-10-19 18:34:35 श्रीमद्भागवत गीता न केवल धर्म का उपदेश देती है, बल्कि जीवन जीने की कला भी सिखाती है। महाभारत के युद्ध के पहले अर्जुन और श्रीकृष्ण के संवाद लोगों के लिए प्रेरणा स्त्रोत हैं। गीता के उपदेशों पर चलकर न केवल हम स्वयं का, बल्कि समाज का कल्याण भी कर सकते है। जब पांडवों और कौरवों की सेना आमने‑सामने होती है तो अर्जुन अपने बुंधओं को देखकर विचलित हो जाते हैं। तब उनके सारथी बने श्रीकृष्ण उन्हें उपदेश देते हैं। ऐसे ही वर्तमान जीवन में उत्पन्न कठिनाईयों से लडऩे के लिए मनुष्य को गीता में बताए ज्ञान की तरह आचरण करना चाहिए। इससे वह उन्नति की ओर अग्रसर होगा। ओपन / कमेंट
