Context : India's AMCA Fifth-Gen Fighter Jet-CCS cleared a Rs 15,000 crore project for the AMCA development.
Developing Agency: Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) under DRDO, manufactured by HAL.
Note : In the context of fighter jet generations, sonic speed refers to the speed of sound, which is roughly 767 mph (1,236 km/h) at sea level and 15°C (59°F). This speed becomes a benchmark when discussing fighter jet capabilities because achieving and exceeding it brings significant advantages in aerial combat.

What is Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA) ?
What is it?- The Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA) is a U.S. federal law that was enacted in 2008.
Purpose : It prohibits discrimination in health insurance and employment based on an individual's genetic information. This includes genetic tests of individuals and their family members, as well as the manifestation of a disease or disorder in family members.
Intended impact : Essentially, GINA prevents employers from using someone's genetic information when making hiring, promotion, or other employment-related decisions, and it stops health insurers from denying coverage or charging higher premiums solely based on genetic predisposition to potential diseases.

Context : while automation brings many changes and potential benefits, it's crucial to ensure that these advancements don't harm vulnerable workers and that they actually contribute to fair and inclusive growth. PROS : Because of new technology, more people can work from home or different locations, which creates new opportunities for jobs that weren't there before. CONS : People who don't have much education or skills might find it harder to get good jobs because of automation. Women and less advantaged groups might be more affected and could lose their jobs more easily.

Gs-2 : Education- Full Article link
What is the question that you need to focus on ? - Interim budget slashes the allocation to higher education by 16.8% with the UGC taking a major cut of over 60%. At the same time, funds have been allocated to the HEFA which aims to enhance infrastructure through loans.
Is it a worrying trend for public education in India to increase dependence on loans?- I answered this previously on this blog : Lessons from US Student Debt : On Foreign universities entering India
Important point : Incheon declaration- on primary education- The NEP aimed for equitable and quality education with a targeted allocation of 6% of the nation's GDP to education. However, the actual allocation is around 2.8% of GDP, suggesting a retreat from these goals. However since this is an interim Budget- we should see the overall trend of allocation to education over last few years than just this budget alone- IMP article Please Subscribe : Youtube.com/vikaskanukollu

Gs-3 : Inclusive growth- Financial inclusion.
Context : Parliamentary Committee's Concerns on Digital Payments-dominance of foreign entities in the Indian digital payment space
The Unified Payments Interface (UPI) commanded a 73.5% share of the total digital payments in terms of volume in FY 2022-23. However, its share in terms of value was only 6.67% in the same period. It means that UPI's volume is more but the value is less when compared to other methods like credit or debit cards
NPCI- cap rule- UPI is software skeleton over which different payment apps do some modifications and put their branding stickers - So NPCI- creator of UPI has now capped the transactions to 30% of all transactions for any single player. This is like saying no single vendor in a market should be so big that they take more than 30% of all sales, ensuring that smaller vendors also get a chance to sell their goods.
