Home Tab: The Home tab is the default tab in Microsoft Word.

Groups in Home Tab:

2. Font Group

(a) Font/Font Face/Type Face:
• examples of Font face- Arial, Calibri, Cambriya, Times New Roman etc.
• By default font - Calibri

(b) Font Size:
• Font size is measured in pt(points)
• By default font size: 11pt
• Minimum font size: 1pt
• Maximum font size: 1638pt
• Minimum font size in Drop-Down list: 8pt
• Maximum font size in Drop-Down list: 72pt
• Increase the font size: Ctrl+Shift+>
• Decrease the font size: Ctrl+Shift+<
• Increase the font size by 1 point: Ctrl+]
Decrease the font size by 1 point: Ctrl+[

(c) Font Style:
Bold(Ctrl+B),
Italic(Ctrl+I),
Underline(Ctrl+U),
Regular
• By default font style: Regular
• Regular font style is found in the Font dialog box.

(d) Strikethrough: (Strikethrough)
• Double-Line Strikethrough also possible through font dialogue box.

(e) Subscript: (Ctrl+=)
example- H₂

(f) Superscript: (Ctrl+Shift++)
example: H²

(g) Grow font: Ctrl+>

(h) Shrink font: Ctrl+<

(i) Change Case (shift+F3)
• Sentence Case - capitalizes the first letter of a sentence.
• lowercase - removes all capitalization.
• UPPERCASE – capitalizes all letters in the selection.
• Capitalize Each Word - the first letter of each word will be uppercase, and the rest lowercase. (often called title case).
• tOGGLE cASE - reverse the case.  Uppercase letters become lowercase, and all lowercase letters are changed to uppercase.

(j) Clear All Formatting:
(Ctrl+Q or Ctrl+Space bar)

(k) Text Highlight
(l) Text Color
(m) Text effect: ex - Outline, Shadow, Reflection, Glow.

• Display the Font dialog box:
Ctrl+D or Ctrl+Shift+F ओपन / कमेंट

1. Clipboard Group:

• Automatically displays the Office Clipboard when you press CTRL+C twice.

• The Office Clipboard can hold up to 24 items. 

• If you copy a 25th item, the first item on the Office Clipboard is deleted.

• The newest entry is always added to the top.

Clipboard Group commands:
(1) Cut (Ctrl+X)
(2) Copy (Ctrl+C)
(3) Paste (Ctrl+V)
Paste special (CTRL+ALT+V): you can use Paste Special to maintain the original formatting or paste it as a link or a picture.
(4) Format Painter -
     (a) Copy - Ctrl+Shift+C
     (b) Paste - Ctrl+Shift+V

1. Left Align (Ctrl+L):
Aligns the text towards left margin.

2. Right Align (Ctrl+R):
Aligns the text towards right margin.

3. Center Align (Ctrl+E):
Brings the text at centre.

4. Justify Align (Ctrl+J):
Aligns the text to both left and right margins.

It also provides the alignment for other objects such as picture, symbol, shapes etc.
