International Day of Human Space Flight
● Every year on 12th April 'International Day for Human Space Flight' is organized.
● The United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution to observe the International Day of Human Space Flight on 12 April, 2011.
● This day is organized as the anniversary of the historic space travel of Yuri Gagarin in the year 1961.
● It aims to 'reaffirm the contribution of space to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).'
● The United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) promotes international cooperation for the peaceful uses of outer space.
