● Hindi story writer Phanishwarnath 'Renu' was born on March 4, 1921 in a village named Aurahi Hingna in Purnia district of Bihar.
● He participated in the 'Quit India movement’ of the year 1942.
● He also played an active role in the anti-Ranashahi movement of Nepal.
● Renu was a supporter of progressive ideology in politics.
● In the year 1953, he came in the field of literary creation and he did writing work in various literary genres like story, novel and essay.
