75th World Health Day
● Every year on 7th April 'World Health Day' is organized all over the world.
● Its idea was conceived in the first World Health Assembly of the World Health Organization organized in the year 1948, which was implemented in the year 1950.
● World Health Day is celebrated every year on 7th April, the anniversary of the founding day of the World Health Organization (WHO) (7th April, 1948).
● Over the years it has highlighted important health issues such as mental health, maternal and child care and climate change.
● The theme of this day for the year 2023 is 'Health For All'.
● It aims to discuss global health and its related problems and spread awareness about common health care facilities in the world.
● The World Health Organization (WHO), the specialized agency of the United Nations for the health sector, was established in the year 1948.
● Its headquarters is located in Geneva, Switzerland.
● Presently 194 countries are members of WHO. It has offices in 150 countries as well as six regional offices.
● It is an inter-governmental organization and generally works in collaboration with the Ministries of Health of its member states.
● WHO provides leadership on global health issues, shapes the health research agenda and sets various norms and standards.
● In addition, WHO articulates evidence-based policy options, provides technical assistance to countries, and monitors and evaluates health trends.
