I wanted to bring to your attention an unexpected situation regarding the JSFB (Jana Small Finance Bank) shares I purchased on Tuesday (30-Apr). As per the usual settlement cycle, I was supposed to receive the shares on Thursday (2-May) due to a holiday on Wednesday. However, upon checking my demat account today, I noticed a discrepancy.
The shares are showing a short quantity, indicating that the seller of the shares defaulted on the transaction.
Consequently, the shares will now go to the auction market. If my broker fails to purchase the shares from the auction market, the broker will sell my shares, and I will receive my money back.
I'm sure many of you may be facing similar issues because it hit upper circuit on Tuesday.
It's crucial for us to understand why this happened and how it impacts our investments.
Have you encountered a similar situation with JSFB shares or any other stocks?
Let's navigate through this together and ensure we stay informed investors.
