Kuthiramalika Palace Museum Palace of Horses
Thiruvananthapuram boasts of several landmarks showcasing its regal legacy including the beguiling Kuthiramalika Palace. The name itself means 'a palace studded with horses' attributed to its 122 carved wooden brackets shaped like horses. Intricate carvings, doorjambs and ornamented pillars bedeck interiors that used to serve as the Travancore Maharaja's audience hall. An array of artifacts, especially Belgian cut-glass mirrors dominate the palace that looks straight out of fairy tales!
The tiny but iconic Puthen Maliga Kokila Pura within the same museum complex houses several Chola statues, coins and bronzes shedding light into early Travancore history.
