Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has stated that, despite layoffs in different industries, the company is not planning any layoffs because it believes in grooming talent for longer careers once it hires an employee
"We don't do that (layoffs), we believe in grooming talent in the company (there will be) no layoffs," Lakkad said,
He claimed that many businesses are compelled to make this decision because they recruited more people than they intended. Whereas TCS, which he cited as "cautious", believes that once a staff member joins, it is the company's responsibility to make them productive and derive value.
When it discovers a discrepancy between the skill sets needed and those possessed by an employee, it concentrates on training the worker by giving them extra time.
