S&P 500 and Nasdaq hit fresh highs on Tuesday on better-than-expected March CPI data, shrugging off worries on the Johnson & Johnson vaccine pause. Bank earnings will be closely watched today. Major European and Asian benchmarks closed higher.

Gold rose to $1745.25 on the inflation expectation. WTI crude (SpotCrude) climbed above $60 on the upbeat Chinese import data and decreasing US crude inventory. OPEC raised the 2021 oil demand growth forecast to 5.95 million bpd. Bitcoin hit a new all-time high of $63,181 before the Coinbase listing on Nasdaq.

The US dollar index (USDX) extended the decline to 91.79, while the yield on 10-year Treasury traded lower near 1.61% after a solid 30y auction. USDJPY fell below 109.00.

EUR increased to 1.1948 despite German ZEW Economic Sentiment missing estimates. GBP ended higher at 1.3750. UK GDP expanded only 0.4% in February against 0.6% expected.

AUD was up at 0.7643 amid the USD weakness. NZD rebounded to 0.7054 ahead of the RBNZ rate decision today. CAD strengthened to 1.2533.
