❖ Narayan Malhar Joshi, popularly known as Nana Saheb Joshi, was born on 5 June 1879 in Goregaon, Colaba district of Maharashtra.
❖ Became a member of 'Bharat Sevak Samaj' in the year 1909 and remained associated with it for many years.
❖ He was closely associated with organizations like 'Bombay Social Service League', 'Released Pension and Society', 'Legal Society', 'Bombay Presidency Social Reform Association', 'Indian Trade Union Congress' and 'Civil Liberties Union'. .
❖ He founded the 'All India Trade Union Congress' in the year 1920 and remained its secretary till the year 1929.
❖ Due to the influence of communists in Congress, he left Congress and formed a new organization called 'Trade Union Federation'.
❖ He was also an elected member of the Central Legislative Assembly, Delhi.
❖ The most important contribution of N.M. Joshi was to fight for labour welfare and labour interests.
❖ MM Joshi continued to lead the moderate section in the 'All India Trade Union Congress' for a long time.
❖ Narayan Malhar Joshi was also a member of the 'Central Pay Commission' in 1947 AD. He also took interest in social service and established many hospitals for women and children.

❖ He died on May 30, 1955 at the age of 76.
