2) Odisha Government introduced the "Swayam Scheme" for Youth Empowerment.
➨ The 'Swayam' scheme aims to empower the youth of Odisha by providing interest-free loans of up to Rs 1 lakh to young entrepreneurs, fostering self-employment opportunities.
3) The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) introduced the Surrogacy (Regulation) Amendment Rules, 2024.
➨Previously, surrogacy required both gametes to be from the intending couple, prohibiting the use of donor gametes.
➨ The recent amendment introduces flexibility, allowing one donor gamete under specific circumstances.
4) Indian Coast Guard ship Samarth and ICGS Abhinav along with Sri Lanka Naval Ship Samudura participated in the exercise ‘DOSTI-16’ while Bangladesh is participating as an observer.
5) Multinational military exercise - 'Shanti Prayas IV' - kicked off in Nepal with the participation of 19 countries, including India, Bangladesh and Pakistan to enhance the interoperability and peacekeeping skills of the forces.
