‘टॉम्ब ऑफ सैंड’ अंतर्राष्ट्रीय बुकर पुरस्कार के लिए जब ‘शॉर्टलिस्ट’ किया गया तभी ये हिंदी भाषा की पहली कृति बन गया। अब 2022 का बुकर प्राइज भी इसको मिला है। गीतांजलि श्री की यह बुक मूल रूप से हिंदी में ‘रेत समाधि’ के नाम से प्रकाशित हुई थी। इसका अंग्रेजी अनुवाद ‘टॉम्ब ऑफ सैंड’ डेजी रॉकवेल ने किया है और जूरी के सदस्यों ने इसे ‘शानदार और अकाट्य’ बताया।
