Technically US GDP growth is positive so it is not in a recession. But GDP may grow even because of #inflation. There are several other ways to look at the real economic growth, one such way is to see the growth in debt of individuals. Rising personal loans indicate economy is not well.
The chart here shows “US Credit Card Debt” which is at its ALL TIME HIGH. This increase in #credit card #debt largely reflects consumers’ struggle to keep up with skyrocketing prices for food, gas, and other basic necessities. We are focusing on US markets because like 2008, the next global #recession will again originate from there. The chart here shows “US Existing Home Sales”, which have been falling since the start of this year.

The reason of this sharp decline is #inflation, which forced US Fed to hike rates and home #loans became costly, almost triple of what it was a year earlier. Inflation has started cooling off, and if Fed goes soft on interest rates, the housing demand may again pickup. But, even if that happens, the respite may be temporary. ओपन / कमेंट

If the price of an asset rises too high, and then falls at a fast pace, then that is a clear indication of a bubble. Yesterday’s chart here had shown that the US house prices are a bubble, and in fact the bubble has already started losing air.
