2021-02-17 07:50:04 Stocks in Asia-Pacific were lower in Wednesday trade following an overnight dip for the S&P 500 stateside as investors grew concerned over rising bond yields.

In Japan, the Nikkei 225 slipped 0.75% in morning trade while the Topix index shed 0.4%.

Japan’s exports rose 6.4% in January as compared with a year earlier, according to trade statistics released Wednesday by the country’s Ministry of Finance.

The Taiex in Taiwan bucked the overall trend as it surged around 3%, with shares of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company soaring about 5%.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index dipped 0.45%. South Korea’s Kospi fell 1.35%. ओपन / कमेंट

Sometimes we seek support from the outside. We need confirmation of opinion leaders and friends, etc. Only with that support people feel that they are doing the right thing. But really nobody wants others to change much.

People often want the world to be predictable for themselves. In the best scenario they don’t care and I’m the worst one they want you to fail. But that’s a very relieving thought the the only source of real confirmation should come from the inside. 

Try to judge by yourself. You should analyze what you do and understand what should be done better next time. If you do something, do it only because YOU want it. Nobody else is going to invent a dream for you. 

You can’t make the whole world happy while staying completely true to yourself. People have different interests. But it’s always better to risk it and try getting more out of your life, even if you can be misunderstood and not supported by others.

Stocks in Asia-Pacific rose in Tuesday trade as markets in mainland China remain closed for the Lunar New Year holiday.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index, which returned to trade following holidays in the last few days, jumped 1.30%.


In Japan, the Nikkei 225 advanced 1.44% while the Topix index gained 0.64%. South Korea’s Kospi edged 0.39% higher.

Stocks in Australia also rose, with the S&P/ASX 200 up 0.36%.

MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan traded 0.5% higher.

Minutes from the Reserve Bank of Australia’s February monetary policy meeting, released on Tuesday showed members concluding that “very significant monetary support would be required for some time as it would be some years before the Bank’s goals for inflation and unemployment were achieved.” ओपन / कमेंट
