World Hydrography Day celebrates the works and contributions of the Hydrographers. The Theme of 2022 is "Hydrography - contributing to the United Nations Ocean Decade." The day is observed on the initiative of Monaco-based International Hydrographic Organization (IHO). In 2005, the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution designating June 21 as World Hydrography Day. The day was first commemorated in 2008.
