Volcanic eruptions have a cooling effect on global temperature.

The stratovolcano/composite volcano is tall, steep, and cone-shaped.

They have higher peaks & usually a small crater.

They have alternating layers of pyroclastics and lava & a narrow cone.

Lava is highly viscous, that's why they're steep-sided mountains.

Most stratovolcanoes are at subduction zones. They erupt violently & run through cycles with lots of small eruptions before erupting on a big level
