Krishna River The Krishna River is the
fourth-biggest river in terms of water inflows and river basin area
in India, after the Ganga, Godavari and Brahmaputra.
It
originates near Mahabaleshwar in Maharashtra and
flows through Maharashtra, karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and finally
drains into Bay of Bengal in Andhra Pradesh
Krishna Pushkaram fair which is held once in twelve years is held
on banks of the Krishna river in Southern states.
Tributaries :
Left - Bhima, Dindi, peddavagu, Musi, paleru, nunnery
Right - kudali, venna, koyna, Panchganga, Dudhaganga, Ghatprabha, Malaprabha, Tungabhadra.
Nagarjuna Sagar dam, Sirisailam dam, Prakasam barrage, Almatti dam are some of the
important dams on the Krishna river.
