One of the reason I think why I could stick to bullet journalling is because how much flexible it is.
If you are planning for something, then you can make a separate collection where you can add everything from tasks to thoughts on there. Helps you organise your thinking.
And I really find that great way to start a day is by writing today's date on top. I find this trivial task very meaningful as it has become routine. (I have been doing it without missing any day with it).
And I have a corner where I can plan and draw out my life plans for future.
And I can document my life too for my future self.
