Impacts Of Violent Conflict On Food Security:
• Conflict destroys land, water, biological, and social resources for food production (challenges to SDG 2 and SDG 12).
• Violent conflicts→forced displacement→ weakening food security in both countries of origin and many host communities (hampers- SDG1, SDG2, SDG3, SDG8, SDG10 and SDG 16).
Example:
• The war in Syria, for instance, has caused more than 6 million people to flee their homes to other locations in the country→ severe food insecurity.
