MUHRAT TRADING
*The word ‘Muhurat’ means auspicious time. Muhrat Trading is one-hour trading session conducted every year on Diwali. Today, the stock market (BSE & NSE) would be open for one hour and Muhrat Trading would be held between 6 pm to 7:15 pm (including a 15 min pre-market session).
*Muhrat Trading marks the beginning of a new year or Samvat. This year will be the beginning of Samvat 2080 and the end of Samvat 2079. 
*Observed for ages by the investor community, this tradition pays respect to Lakshmi, the Goddess of Wealth. BSE started it in 1957 & NSE in 1992. Investors believe that trading on this special occasion brings wealth, success, and prosperity throughout the year.
