The Oldest Mosque in India – Built in 629 AD
The Cheraman Juma Masjid in Kodungallur, Thrissur District, Kerala, built in 629 AD, it is the first Masjid in India. It was built by Malik Deenar, an Arab merchant and propagator of Islam. It is believed that this mosque was first renovated and reconstructed in the 11th century AD.
