The Christmas truce football match
A series of unofficial cease-fire along the Western front of WW-1 was known as the 'Christmas truce'. It is believed that German and British soldiers stopped the war and played football in no man's land in the year 1914 during Christmas. There has been no actual photograph of soldiers playing football there, but from the war letters historians assume the game was played. Nevertheless, this remains a heart warming story for the football community, they stopped the war and chose to play football.
