There are some verbs which don't admit of progressive action ,such are called Non - progressive (stative verb).

Verbs of perception :- see, taste, smell, hear, please.

Verbs of thinking process :- Think , know, mean, mind, etc.

Verbs showing possession :- own, have, belong, contain, etc.

Verbs expressing feelings or state of mind :- believe,  like, love, want, wish, hate, etc.

Verbs in genral :- Look, seem, affect, resemble, cost, become, face, etc.
