OUTLOOK
The market is expected to open lower today following weakness in Asian peers.

GLOBAL MARKET
Asian stocks fell today as a result of declines in US equities and Treasuries, driven by disappointing tech earnings and indications of a strong labour market that could lead to further interest rate hikes. In the US, stocks ended mixed as investors reacted to June quarter earnings from the likes of Tesla, Netflix, Johnson & Johnson, among others. Brent oil prices were little changed on Friday and were set to close flat for the week after three straight weeks of gains, as markets weigh lower U.S. crude inventories and tapering interest rate hikes against weak Chinese economic data that could cap demand.

RESULT
Reliance Industries, Ashok Leyland, UltraTech Cement, Vedanta, DLF, GNA Axles, HDFC Life Insurance, Hindustan Zinc, JSW Steel, Paytm (One 97 communications), PNB Gilts, Tejas Network and Wendt are among the companies that will announce their earnings for the June 2023 quarter during the day.

As per provisional figures, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs)/Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) bought shares worth net Rs.3370.90 crore and Domestic institutional investors sold shares worth net Rs.193.02 Crore on 20th July 2023.
