4) National Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(NMDC), Country’s largest iron ore producer has bagged Gold Award in Environmental Sustainability category and Kumaraswamy Iron Ore Mine bagged Platinum Award in Environment Management category.
4) The Delhi government launched its ‘Anganwadi on Wheels’ initiative aimed at fulfilling the nutritional and health needs of children.
➠ The initiative will reach those children who were not able to reach anganwadis due to any reason and will provide them nutritious food as well as fulfil their educational and health-related needs.
6) American financial services provider Morgan Stanley has appointed Anahita Tiwari as the Head of its Global Centres in India. She will be taking over the new role from John McGory who will take over the same role for Baltimore operations of the company.
7) International Day for Disaster Reduction (IDDR) is observed on 13th October each year to celebrate how people and communities are reducing their exposure to disaster.

13) NITI Aayog and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) India launched a handbook to promote sustainable management of plastic waste in the country.
➠The report, titled 'NITI Aayog-UNDP Handbook on Sustainable Urban Plastic Waste Management', was released by NITI Aayog Vice Chairperson Dr Rajiv Kumar, CEO Amitabh Kant.
